I've been busy!

Wow! It has been a very busy few weeks!

October and the beginning of November were filled with travel to North Myrtle Beach, rainy Massachusetts and sunny Hilton Head. Both before and after our travels, I participated in five days of Craft Shows. I have two shows remaining for 2019. The next one finds me at Inlet Square Mall Holiday Market on Saturday, November 30th. I am usually in Center Court next to my friend, Nancy.

The final show for the season is Saturday, December 7th from 11AM until 4PM at ATALAYA CASTLE at Huntington Beach State Park. This is the one I am most excited about!

ATALAYA was the winter residence of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, the couple who created Brookgreen Gardens, just across the highway from the State Park. Archer was a philanthropist and Anna was a sculptor, with her works displayed beautifully at Brookgreen Gardens.

At this December 7th show, which benefits the “Friends of HBSP”, each one of the vendors has their own room to decorate and display their work for sale. I will be in Room 28D – which is part of the servants’ quarters. I’ll have a 10x12 space with a (non-working) fireplace, a window and two closets/cubbyholes. While there is no heat in Atalaya, there is one electrical outlet. I can decorate the room as I wish, but can only use what is available in the room to hang items. I will be going back there today to take a detailed inventory of where the existing nails are and measure each wall and the closets (to see if my two Christmas trees will fit in those closets). Then, anal as I am, I’ll make a little diagram so I can figure out how to position my tables and decorations in the room, for this event.

If you are local, please come and see me at Atalaya! After the Huntington Beach State Park entrance, take the South road to get to Atalaya Castle. There is a $5 admission charge to the show, which features 20+ vendors, baked goods, entertainment from the Pawleys Island Orchestra, lunch from the EZCHEEZY Food Truck and SANTA is in the house!!!. Happy Holidays to you all!
